Lent Day 11

I will fear no evil for You are with me...

Fear is defined as an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm. It is one of our basic human emotions. There are different types of fear that can be primal, rational or irrational.
How we deal with fear is important because if we don’t it can bind and cripple us and rob us, even of life itself.

These words from Psalm 23 bring comfort and speak the truth that we need not fear harm or danger because God is with us; ever present wherever we find ourselves.

If it is true that faith is the opposite of fear then in valley situations we should remind ourselves in faith that God IS with us.

I am reminded of the words of a song:
Ye fearful saints fresh courage take the clouds you so much dread are big with mercy and will break with blessings on your head.

Today may you have courage to confess and face your fears. Whatever challenge or valley you are going through or find yourself in may you have an intense awareness of the Lord with you, even carrying you through. May faith arise and your enemy be scattered.
