United Prayer about Covid

Various

2020 has been taken by storm with the Corona Virus pandemic that has swept across all nations. Life as we know it has taken a turn and every day is filled with panic, fear and uncertainty now more than ever.

According to the Word of God, prayer is powerful.

1 John 5:15 “and if we know He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions we desired of Him.” (KJV)

Mark 11:24 “therefore I say to you whatsoever you desire, when ye pray believe that ye have received them and ye shall have them.” (KJV)

James 5:16 “the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (KJV)

According to the Word of God, unity is necessary.

Psalm 133:1 “behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (KJV)

Ephesians 4:3 “Endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (KJV)

Matthew 23:8 “But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ and you are all brethren.” (KJV)

We are inviting you to join with your fellow brothers and sisters in a movement of prayer to see a Godly intervention to this pandemic. It is time to put aside our differences and come together in something every theology can agree with; the necessity of prayer. Prayer is tool we all have access to and the one thing that we know can change the world. Our prayers as a church are important and powerful and it is time we came together in prayer to be intercessors against this virus. Whether you spend 5 minutes praying or the entire weekend, your prayers are heard and you and your church family’s participation will be what causes the positive shift we need to see right now.

The practicals:

The weekend is planned from Friday the 18th of September 2020 at 4pm to Sunday the 20th of September 2020 at 4pm.

As a church community, you have full flexibility to decide how your prayer weekend will look and how it will practically run, if you intentionally partner with neighbouring churches, feel free!! If by any reason, you feel like your church would be unable to fully dedicate to the full weekend, please still join up! One minute of prayer is just as powerful as 48 hours.

There are no restrictions, use the time for worship, prayer, fellowship or whatever you feel led to do, we simply ask you keep your focus on COVID 19 and not to encourage any gatherings that would go against the current governmental restrictions.

With the social restrictions in light of the COVID19 pandemic being re–evaluated every day, it is unknown what governmental guidelines would be in place during the weekend. Fellowship is desired as that is what the Body of Christ is all about but if the governmental guidelines are not in line with gatherings, please be safe and follow any recommendations put in place by authority. Our prayers can be heard wherever and whenever you pray.

The organisers have produced a helpful prayer guide in .pdf format, available HERE.  Alternatively contact Rachel Steele on 07955589048 or rachelsteele101@gmail.com
